Take Action

Awareness is the spark. Pressure is the fire. Here's how to turn your story into change.

1. Share your story

The more voices, the harder we are to ignore. Anonymous or named — both matter. Add your voice →

2. Contact your lawmakers

Ask your state legislators to adopt Kayden's Law protections: mandatory DV training for evaluators and child-safety-first standards. Find them at usa.gov/elected-officials.

3. Spread the word

Use #Unsilenced, #ProtectiveParents, and #FamilyCourtCrisis. Share the stories. Silence is what the system relies on — break it on social media, in your community, with reporters.

4. Support the organizations

Groups like the National Safe Parents Organization, DV LEAP, and the Center for Judicial Excellence fight this daily. See Resources.

A message lawmakers should hear

Feel free to copy, adapt, and send this to a representative.

"I'm a constituent asking you to protect children in custody cases. Too many custody evaluators lack domestic-violence training, and abuse is being minimized as 'high conflict' while courts default to 50-50 custody. I urge you to adopt the protections in the Keeping Children Safe From Family Violence Act (Kayden's Law): require evaluator training in domestic violence and child trauma, limit dangerous reunification practices, and put child safety first. Survivors must not be silenced in the room where their family's future is decided."
